Bday Phi Phi Islands, Thai Boxing, Elephant&Kayak

Another destination this time Thailand.On wednesday we went to Krabi for 1 week. I have to admit that first I thought that Krabi was an island but it's a province in the southwest of Thailand and als consists of some islands. We went to the Koh Kwang Resort which is located in the Ban Klong Muang part. It differs a lot from Indonesia where you can find a lot of people at the beach, overhere it's peaceful and there are barely people on the beach. Sometimes you will see some locals hanging around but that's. The sun is shining every day and it's very hot.

2nd day SIGHT-SEEING
On our second day we rented motorbike for a little bit of sight-seeing. Krabi is a beautiful province with a lot of big caves and a lot of green rubber trees and bamboe houses. Especially in the islands you can see the limestone caves. Our trip went to the outlet village what was a bit boring and after that to Krabi town were you see more tourists. It's a small town with some shops and a lot of food on the streets. When we went back I saw some signs of the Tsunami evacuation route. The signs tell you were to go if there is a Tsunami. 4 years ago the Tsunami was also here and hit some parts of Ko Phi Phi, Ko Lanta and Phuket. Most of the damages re repaired but you can still see it. I also felt while I was walking to the bungalow of the staff of the resort. I got a small injury on my hand and some scrapes on my knees. But I'm doing fine no worries.

3rd day ELEPHANT&KAYAK TOUR
The next day we made an elephant trekking tour & kayaking through the mangroves. The elephant trekking was very interesting and a great adventure. In the beginning it was a bit strange going up and down on that big grey thing while it seemed that I was on the waves of the sea. The elephant discovered some nice trees to eat and we had to stop a couple of times. Our guide wasn't very pleased with tht and ws saying all these funny sounds and even slapped the elephant once. It looked his was murmeling something. AFter the tour of 1 hour on the elephant were we could also sit on the head (what was a bit scary because you don't know were to hold and can fall off) we went for kayaking with some other people Matt, Tom and Mak. Together with Matt I went in a kayak and we did a quite good job. My mum went together with the guide Nang and we had some lovely weather. We went to the beautiful mangroves trees and it looked lovely with also the great looking huge cliffs. Sometimes Tom&Mak had some difficulties with kayaking and were stuck sometimes in the trees. We had the same problems at some moments but we sorted it out with our magic paddle ;)
We had some great views and also saw some monkeys. After this we had our lunch and could bath in a river. The water was a bit cold so I was glad that the sun was shining.

THAI BOXING
In the night we went for Thai kick-boxing. Once in your life you have to see this so we decided to go there. My goodness this was the first time and I even saw little boys and boys till 23 years old boxing. They could kick each other everywere and sometimes it was a bit creapy. A small boy kicked one boy in the neck and then he was laying down. Luckily there was a doctor and everything was ok. It was great to see match like that and the Thai people are crazy of it. They even gamble for this. The boys mostly start this thai boxing when they are 8 years old untill 30 years. In Bangkok you can see the best Thai Boxing but that's very expensive.

BDAY & PHI PHI ISLANDS
2day ITS MY BDAY!! Ohh yess already 24 years old. I got to face it I'm getting OLD!!!!
What supposed to be a trip to paradise island turned into a rainy island trip. Yes it was a shame. We left around 9am and it was already a bit cloudy. We were already disappointed about that. By speedboat we went up and down on the waves of the sea. Our first stop was at Bamboo island. A beautiful island when the sun is shining but today it looked a bit sad. Although a lot of Thai and Chinese people were taking a lot of pictures. After this we went to the Viking Cave were birds have their nests and the eggs can be used for food. This cave is already 500 years old. Then we went to the blue lagoon were we did a bit of snorkling. We went to Phi Phi Don for a lunch but on our way there it started to rain and our speedboat was going up and down and rain was all coming over us. Someone even got sick and spew. Groosh and that on my bday. Totally wet we all arrived at the restaurant were we had our lunch. One guy Jaap found 2 hairs in his food I think that's a Thai specialty. Then we were looking around on the island were it was a bit crowded, muddy, stinky and a lot of shops. Wet gain we were walking there and bought some cake. Back in the boat (it was still cloudy and a bit rainy) we went to monkey bay were we saw a lot of fishes and nice coral. We were also feeding the fishes but then it started to rain again. We had to go back into the boat to town. Unfortunatly it started to rain heavy and the boat was going higher and higher on the waves. 2 sick people spew again, the other all totally wet trying to comfort themselves with a towel but after 2 mins that towel was also wet. At the end we were all happy to get out o ftht boat and go to the hotel for a hot shower. Well that was a happy birthday for me. Even the singing didn't help haha.
